Facilities Master Plan Update

The Illinois Community College Board requires all community colleges to update their campus master plan every five years.  A new master plan for 2017-2022 was approved by the Oakton Board of Trustees in June, 2017.  The plan reviews current facilities conditions and assesses the needs of the college in keeping with the Vision, Mission and Values of Oakton Community College.

Guided by the Master Plan Steering Committee and the team of architects, updating the master plan is a collaborative effort that responds to Oakton’s guiding principles. A campus utilization study helped inform decision making with pertinent data regarding the current use of facilities.

Steering committee meetings began Sept. 22, 2016 and the updated master plan will be published before the end of 2017. The board approved the plan based on two presentations, one in May and one in June. Implementation of the proposed renovations is expected to continue over the next five years.
