Oakton Baseball Ranked No. 9 in the Nation

(March 28, 2018)  In the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Baseball Poll released on March 27, Oakton Community College’s baseball team checks in at No. 9.

During the week of March 19, the Owls went 2-0 with victories over South Suburban College and Elgin Community College.

“We’re proud to be nationally ranked, which is where we belong,” says Owls head coach Bill Fratto. “After a poor finish last year, we’re focusing on regaining our swagger.”

As a team, Oakton (10-5) is demonstrating its offensive prowess, averaging 8.1 runs per game with a .338 batting average and .468 slugging percentage.

“Our team is really coming together and playing consistent ball,” says Fratto. “There’s still a long way to go in the season, but the arrow is definitely pointing up for us.”
