Oakton students who earn Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) in Management and Supervision can transfer to University of Iowa (UI), Tippie College of Business to pursue a bachelor's degree through our guaranteed admission agreement.

Benefits

  • Guaranteed general admission to UI, as a third-year student and admission into major of choice within the Tippie College of Business, if all the requirements are satisfied. 
  • Coursework completed as a part of an associate degree may be applied toward up to one-half the credits required for a bachelor's degree.

Criteria

To qualify, students must:

  • complete an A.A.S degree in Management and Supervision and earn a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA for all the completed collegiate coursework 
    • Students must also earn a minimum 2.75 GPA with no grade below a C for all designated prerequisite courses 
  • complete the World Languages requirement using one of the three options:
    • Option 1: fourth level proficiency in single world language course completed via four years in high school or four semesters in college or testing.
    • Option 2: Third level proficiency in one language plus an approved World Language and Cultural Exploration course. This can be attained via completion of three years in single language in high school or three semesters in college or testing.
    • Option 3: Second level proficiency in two different world languages through coursework or testing. This can be attained via completing of two years in two languages in high school or two semesters in two languages in college or via testing.

Special Note

  • Students are encouraged to choose Science, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Global Studies and U.S. Diversity students courses at Oakton that will also fulfill the general education requirements of Tippie College of Business which are as following:
    Historical Perspective 3 semester hours
    International and Global Issues 3 semester hours
    Natural Sciences (without lab) 3 semester hours
    Social Sciences (excluding Microeconomics and Macroeconomics) 3 semester hours
    Values and Society 3 semester hours
    Understanding Cultural Perspectives 3 semester hours
    World Languages 0-10 semester hours
