Oakton knows that a one-size-fits-all approach is not the best way to encourage a student’s academic growth. The same idea applies to universal orientation events. There are various options for you to visit and get engaged with Oakton, both virtually and in-person. We look forward to getting to know you better during your specific student onboarding based on your academic goals.
Degree-seeking and certificate-seeking students are required to successfully complete an online orientation after being accepted to Oakton College. Visiting students are strongly encouraged to complete online orientation prior to registration. We understand that our students all have their own unique aspirations, so Oakton's orientation programs are tailored specifically to help you prepare for your academic journey. Your orientation experience is centered around your own particular goals, whether you are pursuing a degree or certificate, or are just looking to take a few classes at Oakton before transferring to another institution.
For information about the particular steps you need to take before and after orientation, refer to the Admission Checklist located in the New Student Portal.
