In addition to the Oakton College website, weather-related class cancellations or campus closing updates are available:
The college will make every effort to resume classes as soon as possible after a major storm; however, safety will always be our first priority.
The Emergency Operations Plan (pdf) (5 MB), is being shared to keep the campus and community informed of our efforts to maintain a resilient and prepared public institution. This Plan serves as the administrative guide used for responding to potential campus emergencies in a timely and organized manner. It is not intended to be an all-inclusive set of directives but rather an organized series of guidelines that may be used in a variety of crisis management situations.
The Emergency Operations Plan may be activated at any time there is a disruption in the normal operations of the campus, a potential danger in the neighboring communities of the College, at the request of the College leadership, or for emergencies declared by the State, County or City authorities.
Regardless of the nature of the emergency, the College will place the protection of life and safety of its students, faculty, staff, and visitors as its number one priority.
Copies of the Emergency Operations Plan are also available in a number of key department offices across both campuses. Certain components of the Plan that are public safety sensitive and/or for official use only have been removed from this version.
