English as a Second Language
There are also two non-credit ESL programs: a free program and a low-cost tuition program.
Basic Classes
The free program is designed for English-language beginners and focuses on listening, speaking, reading, writing and general conversational skills.
Classes are held not only on the Oakton campuses but at many locations throughout the community. Classes are scheduled in the morning, afternoon, and evening, during the spring, summer and fall semesters.
Next Steps
The second noncredit program has low-cost tuition and focuses on more in-depth and intensive ESL skills, including grammar, pronunciation, idioms and prep for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
Classes are primarily held on the Oakton campuses, in the morning, afternoon, evening and some Saturdays during the spring, summer and fall semesters.
