The purpose of this articulation agreement between Oakton College and Northern Michigan University is to provide a smooth transition for students who want to earn an A.G.S. degree with Cannabis Dispensary and Patient Care Specialist Certificate at Oakton College prior to a transfer to Northern Michigan University to complete a B.S. degree in Medicinal Plant Chemistry-Entrepreneurial Track.
The Medicinal Plant Chemistry degree is an interdisciplinary program that builds on foundational
chemistry and biology courses and provides students with a two-semester capstone research experience
involving the cultivation of plants followed by extraction and analysis of medicinal compounds from the
plants. The entrepreneurial track combines the science core with business courses to help prepare
students for involvement in a business related to plant medicinal products.
