Columbia College Chicago

Oakton students can transfer to Columbia College Chicago through our guaranteed admission partnership and according to the academic pathways outlined below.

Benefits

  • Guaranteed admission into a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program, after meeting criteria outlined below.
  • Columbia will accept 75 transferable credit hours.
  • Columbia will participate in the "reverse transfer" process for students who transfer before earning an associate degree.
  • Oakton transfer students with a 2.75 GPA or higher are eligible scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $8,000 according to below below.

Criteria

To quality, students must:

  • be a high school graduate (having earned a high school diploma or GED),
    • AND have completed a minimum of twenty-four (24) transferrable credit hours at Oakton
    • WITH a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale on all transferrable coursework.
  • be degree-seeking at Oakton and in good standing at Oakton at the time of application to Columbia.
  • complete EGL 101 and EGL 102 with final grades of “C” or higher to meet the English proficiency requirements at Columbia.
  • be interested in any of the following majors:

  • Students interested in selective programs in the Bachelor of Music (B.M.), Bachelor of Science (B.S.), and Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degrees will need to meet additional admission requirements.
