Areas to Support
Contribute to the College's most pressing needs. Gifts to the Annual Fund are collectively designated to make the most impact and gives the Educational Foundation the flexibility to meet needs as they arise.
For instance, in response to Covid-19, the Foundation provided$62,500 in funding for chromebooks to ensure students could continue their path of study.Support the Annual Fund
Nearly two thirds of Oakton College student scholarship recipients identify as the first in their family to seek higher education.
Your charitable dollars are amplified at Oakton. While a $500 scholarship is not enough to fund one class credit at most four-year universities, at Oakton, we are committed to keeping tuition affordable and accessible. Here, a $500 gift covers a three-credit class plus textbooks.
Local businesses are a critical member of the greater Oakton community. Partnering with the Educational Foundation can help businesses promote their commitment to social good, help fuel our region’s economic engine, and gain access to a talented workforce.
The Oakton College Educational Foundation serves all of Oakton's students — "traditional," single parents, full-time employees, career-changers, English language learners, and everyone building a better life for themselves and their families. From the Oakton Caring Closet, which provides food and personal hygiene items, to the Student Success Fund which provides on-demand funding for unforeseen emergencies, there are a variety of ways to support the whole student at Oakton.
"I encourage all of my students to apply for the Educational Foundation scholarships. I'm stunned by the level of need they describe in their essays. When students tell me they've won a scholarship, their faces are filled with disbelief and gratitude."

"When COVID-19 started, I couldn't make it work anymore. Then I got an email from Oakton saying that I could apply for financial aid to go back to school. And I didn't hesitate. Here I am, working on a degree in accounting so I can get a better job in the future."
