Oakton students who seek to major in environmental studies and have completed their associate of arts degree or 60 transferable semester hours are eligible for the Pathway Scholars: Environmental Studies program.
If a student is admitted to the Pathway Scholars program, an additional admission application is not needed at the time of transfer.
Students should discuss the pursuit of this Transfer Pathway to Lake Forest College for the Bachelors of Enviromental Science, while they are in the first year of their coursework in order to help them plan for transfer.
This program is a transfer program with guaranteed admission for accepted students. No additional application is required. Students must meet a prescribed curriculum (please see transfer guide) and have a minimum 3.25 GPA for consideration.
*Please note that eligible Phi Theta Kappa students will receive the $25,000 Phi Theta Kappa scholarship and the special Pathway designation and benefits listed below for either the Pathway Environmental Studies, or the Pathway Humanities, or Pathway Business scholarships. The maximum amount of merit-based scholarship is $25,000.
**Students will be evaluated at the end of every academic year at the College. Pathway Scholars are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA.
