What is it?
This agreement offers Oakton College students Dual Enrollment during the summer terms at Lake Forest College prior to earning their Associate’s degrees at Oakton College. Students must meet all of the requirements outlined in this agreement to guarantee their admission and enrollment at Lake Forest College.
Benefits
- Students will track their progress towards both their associate’s and bachelor’s degrees by working with their counselors at Oakton College and Lake Forest College each semester.
- During the Dual Enrollment program, Lake Forest College will provide advisement to students to discuss academic program requirements and transfer credit policies.
- Oakton students will be guaranteed a $20,000 scholarship upon meeting the prescribed curriculum and the 3.25 GPA minimum.
- Oakton students will also meet with an assigned Career Advancement Center advisor at least once during their time in the program.
- Lake Forest will also provide official transcripts showing transferable coursework for the receipt of each updated Oakton college official transcript.
- Students may qualify for lower-tiered pricing for summer courses at Lake Forest College provided that the student submit their FAFSA to Lake Forest’s Financial Aid Office.
- Students may participate in Residence life and college life at Lake Forest while enrolled at Oakton.
- Eligibility to transfer into more than 40 majors at Lake Forest.
In order to qualify for the Lake Forest Dual Enrollment Agreement, a student must:
- Apply to the program within their first year of enrollment at Oakton College.
- Remain in the program through the receipt of their associate’s degree.
- Enroll in and maintain full-time status (at least 12 semester hours) for entry into their Lake Forest College degree program within three years of initial enrollment at Oakton.
- Maintain a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale on all transferable course work taken at Oakton.
- Take a minimum of one course (4 semester hours), up to a maximum of two courses (8 semester hours) each summer term at Lake Forest College while concurrently attending Oakton, where the initial course(s) at Lake Forest must be within the first academic year of enrollment at Oakton.
